On Saturday May 22, 2010 First Grace Church held an outreach we called Spring Fling. We have always spoke of doing outreach to our town but it has a population of 12,000 and we are a church of just over 100 people. We did not have the resources in people or money to effectively reach the whole town of Glenpool. We identified a neighborhood of 150 homes and focused all of our efforts there.
Spring Fling was our first major outreach into the neighborhood. We passed out flyers advertising the event for weeks ahead of time. We rented two inflatables, a Jupiter Jump and an obstacle course so we could entertain kids of all ages. Some of our teen girls setup a face painting station and it was a huge hit! Danny Duh Clown ministered to children in song, humor and with balloons. Of course there was plenty of hot dogs and popcorn for everyone to enjoy.
We had announced that at 1:30 p.m. we would have a drawing for one (1) $300.00 and two (2) $100.00 visa cards. Before the drawing Evangelist Daniel King of King Ministries International and his brother Steve did a very entertaining juggling act. Then Daniel King preached the Gospel with a strong anointing. People responded and were born again and the Word was confirmed with several healings!
This was a successful outreach and we are still seeing a positive response to our presence in this neighborhood. This is an outreach any small church could easily duplicate.
